Blackbee AI was built by the team behind Cratoflow — a fintech platform that automated bookkeeping for small and mid-market businesses. After years of watching finance teams struggle with the same problems our tools couldn't reach, we built something different.
Where We Started
From Bookkeeping to Decision Intelligence.
What started as an AI bookkeeping platform evolved into something far bigger. Every customer taught us the same lesson — the real problem wasn't in the ledger, it was in the decisions upstream. Blackbee AI is the answer.
2021
Launched Cratoflow — an AI-powered bookkeeping platform that proved AI could genuinely replace manual accounting work. Within months, over 100 businesses across the US, Canada, and the UK trusted us with their books. Selected for the Forum Ventures Accelerator — our first institutional validation.
2022
Raised our first funding round backed by Forum Ventures. Expanded beyond bookkeeping into AP and AR automation. But the deeper we went into mid-market finance, the clearer the real problem became — the chaos wasn't in the books. It was upstream.
2023–2024
Grew our customer base and deepened our AP & AR solutions. Partnered with SoftLedger, listed on the Sage Intacct Marketplace. Every deployment taught us the same lesson: finance teams didn't need faster forms — they needed intelligent decisions made before spend happens.
2025
The world woke up to agentic AI. We'd been building it. Designed a 14-agent architecture and defined a new category: Intake-to-Pay — the evolution of Procure-to-Pay, starting with intent, not purchase orders.
2026
Blackbee AI launched — the agentic intake-to-pay platform for mid-market finance teams. AI agents that reason about vendors, contracts, invoices, and payments. Every decision explainable. Every action auditable. The journey from a scrappy startup to autonomous finance intelligence — this is just the beginning.

A serial entrepreneur with deep expertise at the intersection of finance, technology, and AI, he is a recognised voice shaping the future of ProcureTech and AP automation globally. He leads Blackbee AI's vision to give mid-market finance teams true control over spend, from intent to pay.
Shiv is an accounting professional turned entrepreneur with 17+ years of industry experience. A Top 50 Women in Accounting award recipient and advocate for women in fintech, she co-founded Cratoflow to solve the finance problems she experienced firsthand, and has helped lead its evolution into Blackbee AI.
